Mole Control in Ojai, CA
Why Are There Mole Mounds Without Visible Surface Tunnels?
Moles create both shallow feeding routes and deeper underground tunnels. When a mole pushes soil out while extending a deeper route, a mound may appear even though the connecting tunnel cannot be seen from above.
Deeper Tunnels Can Produce Surface Mounds
Soil removed from a deeper tunnel must be moved somewhere. Moles push that loose soil upward, creating rounded mounds that mark portions of an underground system.
Not Every Tunnel Raises the Lawn
Shallow mole routes can create visible ridges, but more permanent tunnels are located farther below the surface. These deeper routes may connect several mounds without leaving a continuous raised line through the yard.
The Hidden Tunnel Activity Needs to Be Evaluated
We inspect the mounds and surrounding areas for signs of current mole movement and determine whether deeper routes may connect the affected locations. If treatment is appropriate, we’ll explain the recommended service and provide the price before beginning the work.
