Ant Control in Ventura County and Surrounding Communities

Whether ants are appearing inside your home, outside around the property, or both, Crosstown Pest Solutions will inspect the affected areas, identify what may be contributing to the activity, and recommend an appropriate treatment approach. We provide ant control throughout Ventura County and in select communities across Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties.

What an Ant Problem May Look Like

ONE OR TWO ANTS

Sometimes the first sign is only one or two ants. They may be searching for food or water before a larger trail develops.

ANT TRAILS

A steady line of ants moving along counters, walls, baseboards, foundations, or other surfaces can mean they have established a route between the colony and something they are looking for.

KITCHENS & BATHROOMS

Ants commonly show up around sinks, counters, cabinets, plumbing, and other areas where food or moisture may be available.

ANTS OUTSIDE

Ants may also be noticed around patios, foundations, walkways, planters, irrigation areas, or other parts of the property before they ever become a problem indoors.

Why Ants May Enter a Home

Ant problems can develop when ants outside find access to food, moisture, or suitable conditions around or inside a home.

CRACKS & GAPS

Small gaps around doors, windows, plumbing, utility lines, and other openings can give ants a route into the structure.

FOOD

Crumbs, spills, pet food, grease, trash, and other food sources can give foraging ants a reason to keep returning.

WATER

Sinks, plumbing, leaks, irrigation, and other sources of moisture can provide ants with the water they need.

What We Look for During an Ant Inspection

INSPECT THE AREA

When ants are entering the structure, we inspect the area where they are showing up along with the corresponding exterior area to better understand the route they are using.

IDENTIFY THE ANT

Different ants can behave differently, so identifying what we’re dealing with helps determine where to focus and which treatment approach is appropriate.

FOLLOW THE TRAIL

When a trail is present, the direction the ants are traveling can help narrow down where they are coming from and where they are going.

Outside, Inside, or Both

The treatment method depends on where ants are active, how they are entering, and the conditions around the structure.

EXTERIOR TREATMENT

Exterior service may focus on trails, foundations, entry routes, nesting areas, landscaping, or other places connected to the ant problem. The treatment used depends on the ant and the conditions we find.

INTERIOR TREATMENT

When treatment is needed indoors, we focus on the areas where ants are showing up rather than treating areas unnecessarily. Baits or other targeted treatments may be used depending on the situation.

A Few Practical Things to Know

How long can it take to get control?

It depends on the type of ant, where the colony is located, how widespread the problem is, and the treatment being used. Some ant problems improve quickly, while others can take more time and follow-up to get under control.

Why am I still seeing ants after treatment?

Some treatments are meant to work back through the colony, so seeing ants for a period of time after service does not always mean the treatment failed. We’ll let you know what to expect and when to contact us if the problem continues.

Do I need to leave while you're treating for ants?

Not always. It depends on the treatment being performed. If an indoor application requires people or pets to stay out of a treated area, we’ll explain that before service and let you know when it is okay to return.

Do you offer one-time and recurring ant service?

Yes. We offer both one-time and recurring ant service. We’ll explain what we find, discuss the treatment options, and let you know why recurring service may be recommended in some situations. From there, you can decide which option works best for you.
